30th Anniversary of the Constitutional Court
The Constitutional Court is the supreme body charged with the protection of the law. It has abolished the death penalty, ruled on euthanasia and on the regulations governing abortions, and handed down rulings in relation to the special tax on severance payments and the forced retirement of judges. decisions on the protection of underground waters as well as noise protection to preserve the natural environment. The obverse features the chain worn by the Court’s judges with the medal forming the seal of the Golden Bull. The reverse has a copy of the text of the Golden Bull of 1318, a milestone in Hungarian legal history.
